Canadiens fans show just how weasely they are
The suspicion that something was awry with the All Star voting was known as early as November when the NHL began investigating a suspicious spike in entries for Montreal Canadiens. This eventually led to the inexplicable inclusion of Andrei Markov, Alexei Kovalev, Carey Price and punch-drunk Mike Komisarek to the first team all-star squad. Presumably, one of the main reasons this happened was due to tech savvy fans using a Firefox add-on called Greasemonkey to automate the voting process. Being a tech guy, part of me wants to applaud the ingenuity of the effort but I’m similarly repulsed that people would go to such measures to smear the integrity of the All Star voting process (did I just say that?). That and I’m just repulsed by Canadiens fans in general.
Fortunately, the NHL is able to fix the issue by assigning others as reserves, meaning more deserving people like Alexander Ovechkin and Thomas Vanek as well as Bruins Zdeno Chara, Marc Savard and Tim Thomas made the team.
Still, what a bunch of assholes.
Coming up tonight: the Sens come to Boston. Hopefully playing a team like the Senators will help the B’s turn their suddenly struggling game around. And calling it “struggling”may be a reach. Losing two hard-fought games isn’t exactly embarrassing, it’s just somewhat of a shock considering how freaking good this team has been recently (losing just two games outright in all of November and December). I mean, hey, they can’t go EVERY month like that.
