Doobie now podcasting at WSJ.com…for completely non-Bruins related activities

Finally, I can divulge the excuse reason why free time’s been a rare commodity for me.

I’m co-hosting a podcast over at WSJ.com discussing tech-related news and developments. This is basically a revival of the old “Talkin’ Tech” show I co-hosted in 2000-2001 which ultimately never made it to the air waves due to project cuts. Right now there’s little fanfare about it (it’s tacked on to the end of the daily “Tech News Briefing” podcast and we don’t have our credits listed on the home page), but I’m not complaining. The plan is to have new shows every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

And that’s a side project and not even my full-time gig, so any “don’t quit your day job, kid” comments are fully appropriate.

The Wall Street Journal Podcast page is found here and the direct link for today’s show is here.

Oh, and hey! In more amazing news, I see the Bruins actually scored more than 2 goals tonight and beat the Flyers!

UPDATE: I corrected the link above to show the public version of the podcast page (WSJ.com is subscriber only in many other cases). And if that doesn’t work for some reason, just go to WSJ.com, click on “Multimedia & Online Extras”, then choose “Podcasts”. These will only be up Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, and they’re tacked on to the end of the Tech News Briefing. Although no show is up right now, you can still listen to Monday’s show by clicking on the “direct link” above.

Meet Doobie, your “hot blogger”

Last month over at the female sports blog, Ladies…, they issued a call to arms for “hot” male bloggers. My ego stoked (for some strange reason), I threw my hat in the ring with the thinnest looking photo I could find, barring something from 3rd grade. Hey, if nothing else, I got to promote The Spoked B. Anyway, they released the brackets today and yours truly got a 12 seed (out of 22) in the “AFC North” bracket, meaning that the girls there thought I was more attractive than 10 other guys in my region…woohoo!

Of course, my plan to promote The Spoked B was foiled as they listed my OLD blog (Ghosts of the Garden ) which was where my “submission entry” came from (at the time, I didn’t have enough decent content here to use).

So, if you want to stuff the ballot box for your old buddy Doob (or against me, just to squash any delusions of grandeur I might get), you can vote in the AFC North bracket here.
